The Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has frowned at the manner the ever-busy Lagos Ibadan express road has been blocked by university students who’re protesting the lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The Informant247 observes that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had begun industrial action since February 2022 after the federal government had been unable to meet its demands.
The Informant247 also recalls that the under the umbrella of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS on Tuesday blocked the Sagamu Interchange section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, protesting the lingering seven months old industrial action.
The demonstration of the students left many motorists stranded yesterday, has generated widespread reactions from concerned Nigerian people.
While reacting to the development, the Nollywood movie star, in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, implored the students to instead, take their protest to the National Assembly and Aso Rock.
Yul wrote, “Dear students, it’s good to see you’re expressing your displeasure over the ASUU strike. However, this move doesn’t make much sense.
“Citizens don’t have to suffer bcos of the govt’s failure to resolve the strike. If you want to block the road, block the national assembly, block Aso Rock”.
