At least 422 passengers arrested at Nigerian airports for presenting fake COVID-19 vaccination cards

ABUJA, Nigeria (The Informant247) – No fewer than 422 passengers were nabbed for presenting fake COVID-19 vaccination cards in Nigeria between July and August, officials said on Monday.

The country’s director of port health services Geoffrey Okatubo, during a ministerial briefing and update on COVID-19 response and development in Abuja, said about 96 per cent of passengers coming to Nigeria were COVID-19 vaccinated, but added that a high number of the passengers coming and leaving the country turned up with fake COVID-19 vaccination cards.

He said 176 of such cases were recorded at the Abuja International Airport in July and 246 at other airports in the country in August.
