Bandits release 32 victims, withhold 14 despite N16m ransom in Kaduna

The Chairman, Birnin-Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance (BGVSGG), Ibrahim Abubakar Nagari on Saturday, said that only 32 persons were released out of 46 kidnapped persons after the payment of N16 million ransom.

It would be recalled that 46 persons were kidnapped in Unguwar Bula and Ijinga community in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Meanwhile, a statement on Saturday by Nagari, said the negotiation was for the entire 46 kidnapped persons but the bandits have held on to 14 persons.

He, however, appreciated the security operatives for their support, calling on all religious faithful to continue to pray for the release of the remaining abductees.

“We thank you for your usual support and solidarity in reporting security situation within Birnin-Gwari general area,” he said.
