Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, the new Kwara State Commissioner of Police, has told commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators in the state that the ban on their operational hours fixed between 9pm and 6am remains in force throughout the state.
Adelesi, while speaking when she met with the associations of both groups at the police headquarters in Ilorin, reminded the unions of the existing law promulgated by the state government to streamline their operations at the said time, while reinstating her commitment to enforcing the laws to the letter and advised the union leaders to warn members of the command’s readiness to start enforcing the laws and prosecuting any member caught violating them.
The commissioner, in a statement by SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the spokesman of the command, in Ilorin on Saturday evening, further warned criminal elements in the state to change their evil ways or risk grave consequences, while advising law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of intimidation from criminals or law enforcement agencies.
The police commissioner said no stone would be left unturned to ensure crimes and criminality become things of the past in Kwara State, as it is not going to be business as usual for lawbreakers in the state.
