A security guard with Corporate Victoria Gardens Security Company, Desmond Gudyu, has allegedly punched a 26-year-old man, Akeem Nuhu, to death during an altercation on Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos State. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU chapter of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, on Thursday, said it would resume full academic lectures on November 7, 2020. It could be recalled that a few weeks ago, ASUU had called its eight-month strike following a court injunction. However, in a statement issued after a special meeting of its senate, the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi has fixed November 7 as the approved date for resumption. The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N700.235 billion to the three tiers of government as federation allocation for September, 2022. From this stated amount, inclusive of Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Electonic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the Federal Government received N262.636 billion, the States received N217.191 billion, the Local Government Councils got N160.416 billion while oil producing States received N59.992 billion as derivation from 13 percent mineral revenue. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man, who allegedly killed his 70-year-old father. An officer of the Nigerian Customs Service was killed on Friday in Igboho by suspected smugglers while on patrol on Sinau-Kenu Road in Baruteen Local Government Area of Kwara.
