The All Progressives Congress, APC, has falsified the rumour that the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has withdrawn his support for the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu.
The Informant247 observes that the Governor is a member of the party’s presidential campaign committee, PCC.
The Informant247 recalls that the political actor participated in the presidential primaries before Tinubu got the ticket of the party in June 2022.
While dismissing the rumour in a statement released on Sunday, the ruling party, said there are “imagined political permutations” on the Kogi governorship election scheduled for November.
The spokesperson of the party, Felix Morka described the rumour as “maliciously false and a figment of the imagination of its author and sponsors.”
Morka also described the Governor as a dedicated and committed campaigner” for Tinubu.
According to the spokesperson: “the fake news” seeks to float a rift between Bello and Hon. James Faleke, secretary of the APC PCC.
“It is the desperate and disgraceful conjecture of opposition elements unsettled by our Party’s giant campaign strides.
“Both loyal party men are unquestionably committed and working tirelessly for the resounding victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next month’s presidential election,” Morka added.
James Faleke is reportedly the choice of Tinubu for the Kogi APC ticket, while the Governor of the State reportedly supports incumbent deputy Governor, Edward Onoja.
