The Nigerian police Force and operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) stationed at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Party (APC) amidst upheaval rocking the leadership of the party had been beefed up yesterday.
This security measure followed a verdict by Justice Lewis Allagoa of the Federal High Court, Kano, squashing an earlier judgment of Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, the suspending and barring the national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, from accessing the party’s national secretariat on Friday.
A reliable source told The informant247 that several efforts by the chairman to persuade the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to allow him access the edifice were repudiated.
The Inspector General of Nigeria turned down Oshiomole’s request to access the party’s national secretariat shortly after a brief meeting between the duo at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
The APC chair, however resorted to his personal office at Aso Drive, Asokoro where his personal aides eventually met him.
In furthering their resentments against the party chairman, belligerent governors through Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Salihu Lukman slated an emergency NEC meeting for Tuesday, 17th, February, 2020.
