Following the death of the Ondo State Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu, the Special Adviser on Union Matters to the Governor, Mr Dare Aragbaiye, has resigned his position
A letter signed by Aragbaiye showed that he resigned his position effective Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The letter reads, “I write to refer to the subject above and to resign my appointment as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties with effect from today, Wednesday, December 27, 2023.”
Aragbaiye stated that his resignation was due to the death of his principal, to whom he was faithful to until his death.
“My decision to resign was prompted by the untimely death of my Principal, a tearless and honest leader, Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, to whom I remain loyal even in death.
“I sincerely thank his excellency for the opportunity to serve as a member of the State Executive Council in his administration, initially as a Head of Service and now as a Special Adviser. Please accept the assurances of my esteemed regards,” he added.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that the acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was sworn in as the governor, succeeding the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The swearing-in was held at the government house, Alagbaka, in Akure, the state capital.
It was administered by the chief judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, at 5:18 pm.
Recall that Akeredolu was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday after a long battle with prostrate cancer and leukemia.
