The Super Eagles of Nigeria has maintained their perfect record at the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon after securing a 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau in their last group stage game on Wednesday night.

Coach Austin Eguavoen led side had emerged as the favourite of the tournament -becoming the only team to have finished the group stage encounters with 9 maximum points from possible Nine.

The elated gaffer who credited the players for their performances has, however, warned that the progress wouldn’t be taken for granted while also revealing the next line of training the team will be working on going forward in the tournament.

The Coach to a large extent changed his lineup in the game against the Guineans and the eventual result has further established the impression that the Eagles are the team to beat.

“No one gave us a chance, from the first game. I will continue to give credit to my players, but people have started respecting Nigeria, but it won’t get into our heads. We will start training more of penalties.”credit to the players, we knew it would be a tough game.”

By winning all the group stage games, Eguavoen has now repeated the record he set last time he led Super Eagles to AFCON 2006.
