Two vehicles have suffered a collision along Abuja -Kaduna highway, killing at least three persons while six others sustained various degrees of injury.
A source who witnessed the scenario, Saidu Ibrahim revealed that the incident occurred at Mararaban Ida village on Saturday morning April 8.
He said the accident occurred as a result of a collision between Toyota Highlander having KWL 198 KA as registration number and a Volkswagen golf which was having MKA 89 ZY as registration number.
He narrated that the Highlander’s driver whose vehicle was on a high speed from Kaduna axis recklessly overtook vehicle and had a collision with the Golf car from Abuja axis.
“The golf driver was coming from Abuja axis fully loaded with orange and other fruits heading to Gidan Abe village, when the Highlander jeep coming on speed over at a sharp after the diversion and collided with the golf,” he said.
Report has it that two dead bodies from the golf car were seen lying by the roadside at the scene of the accident.
Some operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC could be seen trying to remove the driver who was trapped inside the car.
The six persons who sustained severe injury have been hospitalized to the General Hospital in Sabon Wuse.
An operative of the FRSC who took part in the rescue mission, said the three dead victims have been handed over to their relations after necessary identification at the scene.
