Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has applauded the Ilorin Emirates Stakeholders Forum for their donation, which led to the construction of classroom facilities in Alaparo community of Moro local government.
The forum donated a block of classroom consisting of four (4) classes, offices, and an up-to-standard toilet to 3 linked communities – Diseni, Alaparo, and Onireke – respectively, as part of its 2018 /2019 intervention project.
The community appreciated the gesture of the forum, prayed for the success of the government of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and used the medium to request for other things from the Governor.
However the Governor disclosed the resolution of his administration to revamp the education sector in the state, in line with its campaign promises of using the sector as a component of development.
While inaugurating the block of two classrooms, the governor, who commended the Forum for the gesture said the school will serve as a prototype to be provided for other communities, directed the forum to identify 20 communities in need of such intervention that will be supported by the state government.
Also speaking during the event, the Convener of the project, Honourable Ahmed Yinka Aluko said the forum was established to develop the numerous communities in the emirate within its limit.
Aluko added that the group believed that by providing befitting learning centres for rural communities, children of those communities will also have the opportunity of enjoying what is obtainable in the urban centres and for them to be useful to themselves and thier community in the future.
The chairman of the project implementation Committee Alhaji Abubakar Aliagan had called the attention of the forum to plight of the village when he was invited to farm in the community.
He however said he was drawn to the learning conditions of the ramshackle building housing pupils of the school up to primary six.
He said such dilapidated structure are scattered across the Ilorin Emirate and commended the state Governor for promising to turn around educational sector in the state, by providing infrastructure and other learning materials.
