The family members of a traditional ruler in Taraba State have been recovered dead days after being kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The sad development was confirmed by the Chief of Mutumbiyu Justices Chiefdom in Taraba State, Justice Sani Muhammed (rtd), on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
The Informant247 recalls that the spokesperson of the state police command, Usman Abdullahi two weeks announced the kidnap of 8 family members of the traditional monarch.
It was gathered that the gunmen who were suspected to be abductors stormed the palace of the king around 1am and whisked away the 2 wives and 6 children of the monarch.
While addressing newsmen on Saturday, the monarch confirmed the recovery of the dead bodies of his 2 wives and 5 children.
He reportedly told newmen that the remains of members of his nuclear family were recovered on Saturday morning and would be buried at Mutumbiyu.
“The bodies of my family members killed by kidnappers were found and will be brought to Mutumbiyu,” Sani said.
It was gathered that a 14-year-old boy among the kidnapped families of the traditional ruler ran away from the den of the kidnappers 2 days ago and has found his way back to the palace.
