No fewer than three people have been killed while seven others sustained injuries in an autocrash, which involved two vehicles at Conoil filling station axis along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Informant247 gathered that the incident, which happened on Saturday night, involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration numbers RLG 846 XA and a trailer marked JJN 32 YX.

Florence Okpe, the spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, while confirming the incident on Sunday in Abeokuta, said the accident was caused by excessive speeding, which led to a loss of control on the part of the driver of the bus.

According to her, a total of 18 people, which comprised 16 men and two women, were involved in the accident, adding that seven people were injured while three people died from the crash.

Okpe said that the injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital, Sagamu, for medical attention, and the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.

However, the spokesperson said the Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, advised motorists to be more careful on the road during this high vehicular movement and poor visibility due to weather conditions.
