21-yr-old Nigerian arrested for allegedly diverting investors’ N2bn

A 21 years old Nigerian, Dominic Ngene Joshua has been arrested by the Special Fraud Unit, Lagos for allegedly diverting investors’ funds worth over N2 billion.

Joshua, a Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Brisk Capital Limited, is an indigene of Ebonyi State but operates from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to the report, he was arrested following petitions to the unit by several investors. Joshua was accused of luring investors via social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, as well as newspaper publications where he claimed to be a financial investor that manages funds for individuals and companies.

He conned victims to invest in Bitcoin, FOREX trading, real estate, and oil and gas with a promise of making a quick and ’60 percent Return On Investment per month on every fund invested’.

He allegedly diverted funds from over 500 investors to sponsor extravagant lifestyles, exotic cars, luxury watches, real estate estates in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

The suspect who confessed to the crime pleaded to return the monies if given some time.

The Special Fraud Unit confirmed that some of the properties and items purchased with the diverted funds have been recovered from the suspect, and he will be charged at the Federal High Court soon
