The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has reaffirmed that the 2023 general elections will take place as planned.
He made this revelation while addressing vice-chancellors of federal universities in a meeting.
He told the heads of various tertiary institutions not to present staff who’re loyal to political parties for the elections.
The electoral body promised to look into the names of universities’ staff recommended by the VCs for the elections.
Professor Yakubu assured the VCs of security and safety of the staff, corps members, media and voters.
