A 21-year-old man, Lateef Ojo, was on Friday remanded in a correctional facility for alleged armed robbery and conspiracy.
He appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Friday.
Ojo, whose address of residence was not disclosed, is being charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.
ASP Oluyemi Eyiaromi, the Police Prosecutor, informed the court that Ojo carried out the offences at about 1:30 p.m. on October 19, at Odo-Ono Kekere Area, Ibadan.
The Police Prosecutor also made an allegation that Ojo, and others, full armed with cutlasses and knives robbed a resident, Olanleyin Aliyu.
He also added that the defendant robbed Aliyu of his cell phone worth N70,000, a wrist watch valued N16,000 and N120,000.
The prosecutor also said the offences were in contravention of sections 6(b), 1(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.
Mrs S. I Babalola, the Magistrate, rejected the plea of the defendant due to lack of jurisdiction.
Babalola ordered that the case file should be taken back to the Director of Public Prosecutions for necessary legal advice.
The magistrate has adjourned the matter until November 29 for further mention.
