A lady identified as Omotoyosi on Twitter who deceived members of the public, by announcing an untrue rape and kidnap alarm on Thursday morning has surrendered herself to Lagos State Police Command, Akoka division.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the police in the state, shared via Twitter that the lady has voluntarily surrendered herself to the police, and therefore questioning is ongoing.
The lady, Thursday, posted on Twitter that she had been kidnapped and getting raped.
She had also provided personal information, including the phone number of her supposed rapist, with an actual location.
The alarm triggered reactions from members of the public until the intervention of the police.
Shortly after the news went viral, Toyosi came online to discredit her previous rape and kidnap alarm.
She thereafter released a video where she cleared members of the public that she was not raped or kidnapped.
The police conducted a security search at the said location Toyosi provided and consequently arrested three men, who turned out to be residents of the said location, but Toyosi was not found.
Some Nigerians have shown concern and opined that disciplinary actions be taken against Toyosi, so as to prevent future reoccurrence of such incident.
Report has it that Toyosi will be arraigned before a Lagos court for invading public peace.
