2027: Kwara christian forum thanks PDP for picking Rev. Fawenu as Kale Kawu’s running mate
The Kwara Christian Indigene Forum (KWCIF) has applauded the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State for naming Reverend Cornelius Olaosebikan (COS) Fawenu as the running mate to the party’s governorship aspirant, Engr. Bolakale Kawu Agaka, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement signed by its President General, Apostle Olusegun Kosalamola, and State Secretary, Elijah Akanbi, the forum expressed appreciation to the PDP leader in Kwara State, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the state chairman of the party, Hon. Adamu Issa Bawa, and other party executives for what it described as a thoughtful and inclusive decision.
The forum, a Corporate Affairs Commission registered body representing Christian indigenes in Kwara State, said the appointment of Fawenu reflected recognition of the interests of Christians in the state.
It pledged to mobilise its members in support of the PDP during the 2027 elections, stating that although the forum is not affiliated with any political party, it would support parties that demonstrate commitment to the welfare and inclusion of Kwara Christians.
According to the statement, Fawenu is regarded as a leader who promotes religious harmony and is well positioned to complement Agaka’s vision for the development of Kwara State if elected.
The forum also assured the PDP of its continued support, provided the party maintains policies and decisions that advance the interests of Christians in the state.
The statement concluded with prayers for the progress of Kwara State, the PDP, the Kwara Christian Indigene Forum, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
