2027: Adeleke’s campaign council pledges 1.5 million votes for Tinubu
The Imole Campaign Council has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following the appointment of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as the state coordinator of the president’s campaign council.
The council said the Accord Party’s structure in Osun State would be deployed to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Its Director-General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, describing Adeleke’s appointment as a recognition of his political influence and ability to deliver electoral support in the state.
Adeleke was named Osun State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in the revised list of members of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election.
Other prominent figures included in the list are the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; and Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
Oyewumi said the Imole Campaign Council welcomed Adeleke’s appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to secure votes for Tinubu in Osun.
“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced,” he said.
He added that the council would work towards fulfilling the governor’s earlier pledge to deliver 1.5 million votes for the president.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke said sometimes ago, that we will deliver 1.5million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election,” Oyewumi stated.
The council also urged residents of Osun to support Adeleke, saying a vote for Tinubu would amount to support for the governor and his administration’s campaign promises.
Adeleke, who contested the Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s State Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole.
He polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
