…traditional rulers, religious leaders, APC, PDP chieftains drum support for Kwara North
Stakeholders across Kwara State have said Kwara North will produce Governor in 2023.
In a programme tagged Kwara North Peoples Prayers organised by Kwara North Stakeholders Consultative Forum (KWNSCF) held at Bode Saadu, in Morro Local Government Area of Kwara State, the stakeholders, who dropped political and ethnic differences, drum support for Kwara North in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
The stakeholders pointed out that the district is the only one yet to produce a governor since the return of democracy in 1999.
The forum’s Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Lade begged other stakeholders to support the Kwara North agenda in the next election.
He said, “Kwara North has what it takes to produce an effective Governor. It is only through Justice, fairness, equity and Love for others that we can attain peace and development in the state.
“Therefore, for Justice, equity and fairness to prevail in Kwara State, Kwara North should produce the Governor in 2023. This is our stand that cannot be compromised.”
He added that in pursuit of these cardinal objectives, the forum has gone into alliance with Kwara South and Central through the forum.
“It was after several structural arrangements, consultations, and meetings that we felt it appropriate to seek for God’s intervention in the pursuit of our dreams.
“The forum has a department known as the Kwara North for Governor 2023. This sub-body is to pursue the objective of that Kwara North to produce the Governor of Kwara State come 2023.
“This prayer cannot, therefore, come at a better time than now. The sub-body has gone a long way we, therefore, pray that may Allah accept our prayers.
“At this juncture it is imperative that we appreciate our brothers from Kwara South for publicly declaring that Kwara North produce the Governor in 2023. We thank them for this historical support,” he stated.
The Chairman of the forum further said that the stakeholders are equally in talking levels with their brethren from Kwara Central and they have no doubt that very soon they will equally give them their support openly.
Lade stressed, “For the leaders and stakeholders of Kwara North under the leadership of Alhaji Sha’aba Lafiagi, we recognize your support and cooperation but as the saying goes, ‘it is not over until it is over.
“Your financial support and donations that we have received so far are proving that you are all committed to the aims and objectives of this forum and may Allah continue to bless you.”
Stakeholders present at the programme include; Hajia Sarat Adebayo, Chief Iyiola Akogun, Hon. Bio Ibrahim, Hon. Zakari Muhammed, Comrade Bisi Fakayode, Issa Bawa, Prof Issa Gana, Suka Baba, Zubairu Rogu, Dabarako Muhammed, MT Mama, Dantala Yaro and Hon. Tolagbe Alege.
Those who sent representatives are Shaaba Lafiagi, Shuaib Yaman, and Audu Makama.
