Graphic details of how His Grace School in Ilorin contracted a sandwich student of the University of Ilorin, one Adebayo Kayode parading himself as an executive of the National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS), to fight the school’s ritual and sexual harassment allegations have emerged.

THE INFORMANT247 had last week reported the revelation of Engr. Gobiri Abubakar, who stays very close to where the Oyun branch of the school is located. In the report, he accused the school proprietors, Apostle Joshua Adekanye and Mrs. Toyin Adekanye of rituals and of using the school teachers as a syndicate to perpetrate the acts.

Abubakar’s new revelation is coming a year after one Hammed Akorede, a Yoruba teacher in the school, allegedly molested a seven years old pupil during class hours.

His Grace School paid Kayode Adebayo for stage-managed fact-finding mission – NANS source

However, in clearing the new allegation rocking the school, the management reportedly reached out to one Kayode Adebayo, an Institue of Education student of the University of Ilorin on sandwich programme who is parading himself as the NANS Ex. Officio 1.

An agreement that Adebayo will visit the school, according to our informed source, and embark on a stage-managed fact-finding mission in exchange for an agreed price was reached.

The impersonator, Adebayo Kayode

Part of the agreement was for him to come along with another student body as a way to give enough credence to the ‘fake fact-finding’ mission.

It was gathered that Adebayo contacted an official of NANS Zone C who refused to go on such mission before he reached out to one Comr. Mahmud Abubakar of the National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES), enticing him with the money.

The source in NANS, who pleaded anonymity, said, “Yes, they paid them for the mission, I am in the know of how things played out. It is very unfortunate that they allowed themselves to be used for such mission. The other guy, Mahmud came to Ilorin and Kay (another name for Kayode Adebayo) called him to join, telling him that money is involved.”

Abubakar of NANCES lured by Adebayo to join the mission

Adebayo and Mahmud after the purported fact-finding mission issued a statement entitled, ‘NANS, NANCES CONDEMNS NAYSAYING AGAINST HIS GRACE SCHOOLS’ reportedly written for them by the school, describing the report as untrue, and further threatening to attack THE INFORMANT247. The statement was thereafter published on the school website and social media pages.

Adebayo is a notorious impersonator – Kwara NANS

Reacting to the statement, the leadership of NANS in Kwara State described Adebayo as a serial impersonator, stressing that he is not known to the Association at the national level.

The Association further threatened to drag him to court for impersonation,

“It was contained in the statement that Comrade Adebayo (Kayode) and Comrade Abubakar (Mahmud) embarked on a fact-finding to the premises of His grace school – A school which has been in the news for a ritual allegation in recent weeks,” The NANS chairman, Comrade Saleeman Yusuf Issah, AAT, ACA said in a statement issued on May 30.

“Consequentially, NANS Kwara leadership wishes to bring this to the notice of the public that no document in our hands states Adebayo Kayode as NANS Ex officio 1. The attribute of Adebayo Kayode is stark negligence of the rule of law. Parading himself as NANS Ex officio 1 is nothing but impersonation.

“It’s on this note we wish to take this press release to his doorstep, and as such, he should clear the air by presenting any document in his possession which validates him as NANS Ex officio 1 in the next 72hrs. Else, the Apex students’ Association in Kwara will charge him with impersonation.”

For Adebayo co-conspirator, NANS said, “It’s worthy to emphatically state that Comrade Mahmud Abubakar who addressed himself as the NANCES President that he doesn’t have any legal obligation to oversee, monitor or investigate any case unless s it has to do with Colleges of Education. We hereby warn him of his excesses as such actions will be taken very seriously whenever the issue of such occurrences arises again.”

Parent of sexually harassed pupil petitions Police

Coming on the heels of the revelation, sources within the Police and Government have confirmed the receipt of a petition (attached) by one Mr. Vicent Fadunmade whose daughter was allegedly molested at His Grace Schools, Oyun branch.

In the petition dated July 20, 2020 addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State and obtained by this medium, Fadunmade alleged the owners of His Grace Schools of culpability in ritual activities while confirming in the petition the incidence involving his daughter.

In the five-page petition – copies of which were made available to the Kwara State Governor, the First Lady of Kwara State, Chief Judge of Kwara State, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Commissioner for Education, and the Kwara State office of the National Human Rights Commission – he narrated how the level of harassment the owners of His Grace Schools have subjected him to in order to suppress his quest for justice.

Fadunmade also narrated how he was arrested and illegally detained by men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, at the behest of the proprietor of His Grace Schools. He also claimed that while at the Ministry of Education for a meeting called by a Director at the State Ministry of Education Alh. Alhassan Nda-Offa, Apostle Adekanye asked his daughter a question that raised his suspicion that ritual intention might have been behind the ordeals of his daughter.

“Information gotten so far reveals that this may be connected to rituals which may have been going on in the school for a while. This can be corroborated with the question asked by the Proprietor (Apostle Joshua Adekanye) from my daughter: ‘Did he touch you with something’ and the desperation the owners have displayed so far to cover the incident,” Fadunmade said in the petition obtained by this medium.
