20-yr-old man appears in court for allegedly stealing his employer’s N92,800
A 20-year-old, Anas Mustapher, was on Tuesday brought before a court over alleged theft of N92,800 which belonged to his employer.
The 20-year-old sales boy on Tuesday appeared before an Ota Magistrates ‘Court in Ogun over allegation of stealing N92,800.
Mustapher whose address of residence was not disclosed was charged by the police with theft.
Insp E.O. Adaraloye, who’s the Police Prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant carried out the offence on October 18, around 10.40pm, at Ijako Market,Ota.
Adaraloye narrated that the defendant made a sale of pepper soup worth N92,800 which belonged to his principal and spend the money for his own personal use instead of giving the money to his boss, Ballad Sulaimon.
He said that the offence was a violation of sections 383(4) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun 2006.
When the matter was read to the defendant, he however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mrs A.O. Adeyemi, who’s the Magistrate, admitted the defendant to the sum of N50,000 bail plus one surety in like sum.
Adeyemi directed that the surety must live within the juridiction of the court and have reliable source of income with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
She has adjourned the matter till December 4, for further hearing.
