One person died and seven other persons sustained various degrees of injuries in an accident which happened on Monday at Lanle Shebe village, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger.
The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Kuwar Tsukwam, while confirming the incident to newsmen in Minna, the capital of the state, on Tuesday, revealed that the accident happened around 13:45 hours on Monday.
The state Sector Commander said the accident affected a Sharon commercial bus having NBS 854 AA as registration number and which moving from New Bussa to Bida.
“Eight persons were involved in the accident, one of them died, while seven sustained injuries.
“The body of the dead person and the injured victims were taken to Kutigi General Hospital and the vehicle involved handed over to the police in Kutigi for further investigation,” he said.
Tsukwam has blamed the motor accident on over speeding, and sent message of advice to drivers to always control the speed limits to avoid accidents.
