16 Kwara professionals selected for National Health Fellows Program

Sixteen (16) young professionals from Kwara State have been selected for the prestigious National Health Fellows Program, a landmark initiative by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and implemented under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Health, to strengthen Nigeria’s health system through youth leadership, innovation, and service.

The National Health Fellows Program is designed to build the capacity of young Nigerians to contribute to health governance, policy development, service delivery, and data-driven decision-making across federal and state health institutions.

The selection of sixteen fellows from Kwara State is a major milestone that reflects the quality, competence, and readiness of Kwara youths to participate in national development initiatives. It also underscores Kwara State’s growing visibility and representation in federal programs aimed at driving sustainable health reforms and inclusive governance.

The Kwara Fellows are expected to complete the fellowship next week Wednesday after undergoing intensive training and hands-on engagements. Upon completion, the fellows look forward to engaging relevant Kwara State institutions to share insights, lessons learned, and innovative approaches that can further improve healthcare delivery and public health outcomes across the state.

Stakeholders have described the selection as a proud moment for Kwara State and an opportunity to deepen collaboration between the Kwara State Government and federal health authorities. The fellows commend the continued commitment of the Kwara State Government to youth empowerment and express readiness to translate their national exposure into localized impact.

The Tinubu-originated National Health Fellows Program, under the Federal Ministry of Health, remains a strategic platform for grooming the next generation of health leaders committed to equity, accountability, and improved health outcomes for all Nigerians.
