Zetsi Holds Examination Prevention Malpractice Summit

-Presents Honorary Award To Bolaji Abdullahi For Role In Education

A non-governmental organisation, popularly known as Zero Tolerance For Social Immoralities Initiative (Zetsi) Africa on Thursday, 24th October, 2019 held its inaugural annual summit at the National Centre For Women Development in Abuja in Abuja.

In his opening remark, the president of the organisation, Razaq Jeje disclosed that Nigeria could only uphold her sanctity if she is able to clip the wings of examination malpractice which has traversed the length and breadth of the nation, adding that concerted efforts have been made over the years to nip the menace of examination malpractice in the bud.

He further blamed various coaching centres which he tagged “Miracle Centres” across the country for abetting this extrajudicial practice.

Mr. Razaq commended the Joint Admission Matriculation Board under the tutelage of Professor Ishaq Oloye for maximally reducing examination malpractice through Computer Based Test (CBT).

One of the panelists, Pelumi Olajengbesi argued that Nigerian educational system was designed to fail, admonishing ZETSI Africa to send a communique containing recommendations drawn from the summit to key players in the educational sector in order to reinvigorate the near-dead system.

In his contribution, Former minister of sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi charged students to undergo what he called “Personal Ghandi Test.”

The former guber candidate, berated the educational testing system adopted by the country, noting that it is only capable of testing students’ memory not their knowledge.

In the end, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi was presented with honorary award for his giant strides as commissioner for education in Kwara State.

The summit, which was aimed at proffering solution to the growing incidence of examination malpractice in among students across the country was attended by students in Federal capital Territory and major stakeholders in the education industry.
