‘Your access to Villa brought insecurity to Kwarans’ — Davido replies AbdulRazaq

Nigerian music star Davido has criticised Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over his call for Osun residents to elect a governor with access to President Bola Tinubu and Aso Rock.

Davido, who has been actively campaigning for his brother, who is the Accord Party candidate in the Osun governorship election, reacted to the governor’s remarks in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday.

AbdulRazaq had made the comment on Thursday during an All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign rally in Osogbo.

The Kwara governor had argued that Osun needed a governor who could access the Presidency and attract benefits to the state.

“There is a need to have a governor that can go to Aso Rock and bring goodies to Osun State. You need a governor that has access to the President,” AbdulRazaq said.

Reacting, Davido questioned the benefits of AbdulRazaq’s access to the Presidency for the people of Kwara State, particularly in the face of insecurity.

“Your accessibility to the villa brought nothing but insecurity to Kwarans …these so called leaders are watery …,” Davido wrote.

Davido’s intervention comes amid his active involvement in the campaign of his brother, who is contesting the Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party.

The singer has been openly campaigning and mobilising support for his brother as political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the election.
