“You rekindled our dreams” — 200 scholarship beneficiaries celebrate Sen Saliu Mustapha
Two hundred beneficiaries of Senator Saliu Mustapha’s fully funded scholarship scheme have showered praises on the lawmaker, describing his educational intervention as a life-changing opportunity that has reignited their hopes and transformed their futures.
The students, under the platform of the Turaki Young Scholars Forum, expressed their heartfelt appreciation in a statement celebrating Mustapha — the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate — for his vision, generosity, and commitment to youth development.
For many of the beneficiaries, the senator’s support has been more than just financial aid. It has been a beacon of hope in difficult times, lifting the burden of tuition fees, restoring their dreams, and creating pathways to a brighter future.
“Education is the light that dispels poverty, ignorance, and hopelessness. For many of us, that light might have been dimmed if not for the visionary leadership and unmatched generosity of Senator Saliu Mustapha,” the statement read.
They described the scholarship as a deliberate investment in the future of families, communities, and the nation, and a clear demonstration that leadership goes beyond occupying political office — it is about touching lives, building futures, and nurturing generations.
“As beneficiaries, we see ourselves as ambassadors of Senator Mustapha’s vision. We are committed to repaying this rare opportunity with academic excellence, civic responsibility, and by contributing positively to society,” the forum added.
The students hailed the lawmaker as a leader who “invests in people, inspires hope, and plants seeds of development in the fertile soil of education,” noting that his legacy will be remembered for generations to come.
“On behalf of all 200 beneficiaries, we say: Thank you, Senator Saliu Mustapha. Your name is etched in our hearts, your impact is carved in our destinies, and your legacy lives on in the future you are helping us build,” they concluded.
