World renowned football agent, Mino Raiola finally dies
According to Foremost football Writer, Fabrizio Romano, the world renowned football agent and Journalist, Mino Raiola has passed on.
Raiola, who is the agent of Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluigi Donnarumma and some other world class footballers died following an illness that kept him stucked to bed for months.
Recall that conflicting reports had emerged on Thursday about the agent’s life status- while many accounts announced his death, his agency also reportedly refuted the claim.
Amid the reports, his right-hand man, José Fortes Rodriguez told Dutch media on Thursday that: “He’s in a bad position, but he hasn’t died.”
Believed to have been battling lung disease, Raiola’s involvement in several big-money transfers set him tall amongst his peers during his lifetime.
Having amassed significant amount of wealth, the 54- year-old is reported by Forbes to worth around £68million.
According to mirror.co.uk, the agent’s career started in the eighties, brokering Dennis Bergkamp’s move from Ajax to Inter Milan in the summer of 1993.
Among many other historical move he spearheaded was Robinho’s move from Real Madrid to Manchester City – the first transfer of the Sheikh Mansour era.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the Italian’s media outlet described him as “The most powerful, the best, the most discussed, the most feared – by the clubs – the most loved – by his clients”.
