Jose Mourinho denies link with the PSG
Jose Mourinho denied rumors thave linked him with a move to PSG ahead of next season.
Reacting to the link, which has become a source for concern for Roma fans, the Portuguese tactician dispelled the rumour and said he has not contacted by the PSG
“If PSG are looking for me, they haven’t found me. They have not spoken to me,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia, dispelling doubts about his future.
The statement is coming after several days of speculation with RMC publication saying that the Parisian side had approached Mourinho.
According to Radio Monte Carlo, Luis Campos, Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting adviser, spoke to Mourinho’s agent about a possible arrival this summer.
RMC reports that the Roma coach is interested in PSG and the club is “accelerating” to close the deal for Mourinho.
The choice for the Portuguese according to reports is personal to Campos, who has known Mourinho since his university days in Portugal.
For his part, Mourinho has a contract with the Giallorossi until 2024, although he has acknowledged on several occasions that he is happy in the Italian capital, he does not hide the fact that he has other ambitions.
I’m happy here, I can’t hide it. I like the people, I have a good relationship with the ownership and if I say otherwise I’m lying. The players are fantastic, they have tremendous empathy with each other. They are not like sons because I have two, but almost,” he said on April 20, just after the match against Feyenoord which sealed the club’s place in the Europa League semi-finals.
“I can’t say I’m not happy. Sometimes I think about frustrations and sometimes I think about other ambitions, but today the important thing is that I am happy and I work for the people and I have seen them happy. That’s what’s important,” he added
