We’ll no longer tolerate lackadaisical attitude of waste managers: Kwara govt
The Kwara State Government says it will no longer tolerate the lackadaisical attitude of the social waste managers contracted to evacuate wastes within the Ilorin metropolis.
The State Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe during a meeting with the Managers in her office on Wednesday noted that despite a series of warnings to the Managers to be alive to their responsibilities, the reverse has been the case.
She charged them to synergize with the ministry as a team to make the state hygienically safe for all.
“Let us do things right by working within the time frame, be proactive by giving your team the terms for adequate execution of the job,” She said.
The Commissioner stressed that the robins are intervention schemes to help with packing wastes, to ease their jobs as well as giving the city a good look.
For their part, a representative of the Inter project waste Contractor, Mr Julius Elelubo promised to improve on the job effectiveness, to avoid environmental hazards, in the state.
