The Kano State Hisbah Board has mobilised its operatives to mosques to make sure that residents’ lives and property are safe during the period of Ramadan.
The spokesperson of the board, Ibrahim Lawan made this revelation on Thursday, March 23 in Kano.
The Commander-General of the board, Dr Harun Ibn-Sina said: “Hisbah corps will visit mosques during Iftar, Tarawih, Tahajjud prayers to protect worshippers and their property from unpatriotic elements.”
“Those who engage in societal vices during this sacred month will be dealt with. Some of the youths who eat in the public during fasting period will not be spared either,” he said.
Mr Ibn-Sina called on members of the public to help motherless/ fatherless in order to neutralize their suffering.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar has testified to the sight of the crescent, and therefore directed Muslims to commence Ramadan fasting.
The president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), made this revelation in a broadcast on television on Wednesday March 22, 2023, informing Muslim faithfuls to commence fasting on Thursday, March 23.
