Welder appears in court for allegedly snatching woman’s phone, N80,000
Sunday Jacob, a 29-year-old welder, on Thursday appeared before a Nasarawa Court, for allegedly snatching a cell phone belonging to a woman and N80,000.
The defendant, who lives in Sharp Corner, Mararaba, Nasarawa State has been charged with extortion and criminal trespass.
Insp Hamen Donald, who’s the Prosecution Counsel informed the court that the complainant, Favour Akola living at Kabayi, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, brought the matter to the awareness of the Division “A” Police Station, Mararaba on October 10.
The prosecution counsel revealed that the complainant also made an allegation that on October 5, the defendant illegally entered her room and took away from her Infinix cell phone and money worth N80, 000.
When the matter was read to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Mohammed Jibril, who presided over the matter granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 plus one surety in like sum.
The judge has adjourned the matter until November 7 for hearing.
