UPDATED: Kwara gets new Commissioner of Police
The Police Command in Kwara State has got a new Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Lawal Bagega, the command spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, has announced.
Okasanmi, a superintendent of police, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ilorin, the State capital, said the new commissioner assumed duty today (Wednesday).
“Cp Mohammed Lawal Bagega hails from Bagega in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) in Political Science, he did his youth service in Plateau State.
“Cp Bagega enlisted in the Nigerian Police Force as a young cadet officer in 1st March 1990.
“In the course of service to the Nation, he served in various capacities in different Commands and Formations including the following, Osun State, Bauchi State, Delta State, Lagos State, Adamawa State, Kebbi State, Kano State, Jigawa and Imo State Commands. He also served at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
“He was deployed to Kwara State Police Command as the Commissioner of Police from Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Kano.
“The commissioner of Police attended Courses both within and outside the country, which includes Disaster Management course at Mount Carmel Khaifa, Israel. Senior Executive courses in Integrity and Management and Corruption. Intermediate Command Course(ICC) from Command and Staff College, Jos.
“Cp Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc.is a detribalized Nigerian, a seasoned police officer, disciplined and incorruptible, he is committed to discharging his duty with vigour, honor, integrity and with fear of God.
“Cp Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc. is married with children and loves traveling and tourism,” he said.
Bagega replaced Kayode Egbetokun who was posted to the State prior to the 2019 general elections.
