President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the extension of deadline for the acceptance of the old Naira notes as legal tender in Nigeria.
The president approved February 10, 2023 as new deadline.
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has also approved the addition of 7 more days starting on February 10 to February 17, 2023.
Nigerians have the grace of 17 days to deposit their old Naira notes, as the old notes would have lost its legal tender relevance.
Buhari made this confirmation while meeting with the Governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele, in his Daura home in Katsina State on Sunday January 29, 2023.
