Unknown gunmen kill 9 family members in Plateau – Police

Some unknown gunmen, who launched an attack on the Maikatako Community, in Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau, have eliminated nine members of a family and many other persons.

DSP Alfred Alabo, the spokesperson of the Police in the state, made this revelation to newsmen, Wednesday in Jos.

Alabo revealed that the gunmen invaded the community on Tuesday and started shooting recklessly.

The mouthpiece of the police command made a promise to unveil much details on the incident.

He said operatives of the police command had been mobilized to the affected community to enable calm.

“Our men are currently going after the assailants; we are on top of the situation, but the details of the attack are still sketchy,” he said.

Mr Mahanan Job, residing in the community, told newsmen 18 dead persons has been recovered following the search and rescue done by members of the community.

Job added that the presence of the security agents has caused serious tension in the community
