UNILAG set to launch $500m endowment fund to commemorate diamond jubilee

The University of Lagos, UNILAG is to champion the launching of an endowment fund worth of $500 million in commemoration of its diamond jubilee anniversary.

Senator Dr Olanrewaju Tejuosho, who’s the Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council, made this revelation on Monday at the College of Medicine, UNILAG, Idi Araba, Lagos while flagging off activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the public university.

The Pro-Chancellor revealed that the endowment fund is to raise funds to provide novel and up-to-date facilities and to upgrade the old ones in the federal university.

Tejuoso confessed that the 13th substantive VC of the UNILAG, will be announced on Friday, this week.

The new leader of the university will be taking over the mantle of leadership from Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, the 12th substantive VC, whose tenure will come to an end next month.
