U-20 AFCON: Hope restored as Nigeria edge Egypt in second game

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria restored their hope at the ongoing U-20 AFCON after beating the host nation, Egypt 1-0 on Wednesday.

Coach Ladan Bosso and his boys endured a tough duel but would have to thank Solomon  Agbalaka who scored the ‘decider’ through a header in the 71st minute.

Nigeria’s flying Eagles had earlier lost 1-0 to Senegal in the opening match and a victory over the young Pharaohs on Wednesday means that they are still in contention to cross to the next round.

For the Flying Eagles who are now second on the log with three points, they must ensure a win in their last group stage game against Mozambique to book the quarter finals ticket.

Meanwhile, Senegal defeated Mozambique 3-0 on Wednesday also to maintain their lead on the Group A with Six points.The result means that they have qualified for the next round of the tournament.
