U-17 Women World Cup: Nigeria targets win against New Zealand

The Head coach of Nigeria U-17 female National team, also known as Flamingoes, Bankole Olowookere has noted that the team will not settle for less in their second game in the ongoing FIFA 2022 U-17 Women World Cup.

Flamingos recorded a 1-2 loss to their counterpart from Germany in their first game played on Tuesday at Gao in India.

The defeat to Germany in the opening group match, according to the gaffer has consequently placed much importance on the second match against New Zealand.

Bankole and his girls had a very impressive qualifiers matches going in to the mundial,a record which saw them being touted as one of the favourites in the tournament.

” We are going to work hard in the second game, we will block all the loopholes because we needed to win the next match.

“I and the rest of the trecnical crew will play a fatherly and motherly role so that we can lift the spirit of the players ahead of the second match”, he said

The game against the New Zealand is scheduled to take place on Friday in South Goa.
