Two killed in Lagos-Ibadan lone accident
Two persons have been killed in a lone accident involving a truck at the Kara end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Informant247 learned that the accident occurred around 8 pm on Wednesday when the truck was conveying tubers of Yam inward Ogun State, adding that the driver was at top speed when he lost control and crashed the truck into the concrete barricade along the road.
It was further gathered that the truck fell on its side while the tubers of yams spilled into a ditch by the roadside, killing two out of the four males sitting on top of the yams.
However, Ogun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ahmad Umar, confirmed the incident, while attributing the incident to speed limit violations, brake failure and loss of control.
Umar also said the vehicle has been towed away from the road and MTD Isheri police station has taken custody of the crashed vehicle as well as the corpses.
