Twitter outbursts: Bosun Tijani apologises to senators for calling them ‘morons’

Bosun Tijani, Tinubu’s ministerial nominee from Ogun state, has tendered a public apology to senators for calling them “morons” in a 2021 Twitter post.

Tijani, CEO and co-founder of CcHub, on Saturday, appeared before the senate to be for screening as a minister.

The Informant247 gathered that Tijani, was questioned by senators over a series of Twitter post prior to his nomination as minister.

It was learned that when the screening of nominees commenced, Abdulfatai Buhari, senator representing Oyo north, asked the Tijani to speak on his 2019 Twitter post.

Buhari asked the nominee whether he is still a patriotic Nigerian.

During the plenary, other senators insisted that the ministerial nominee should answer the question raised by Buhari.

In the tweet, Tijani wrote, “Nigeria is a bloody expensive tag”.

Meanwhile, while responding to the questions raised concerning the post, Tijani said he made the tweet out of anger based on an experience at the Chinese embassy.

The ministerial nominee said a Chinese embassy official told him that he will be subjected to further scrutiny because of his Nigerian passport.

He said his Twitter posts were made “out of anger and patriotism” for the country and not hatred.

He added that out of patriotism, he invested in the development of young Nigerians through technology.
