10 bandits have been killed and camps destroyed by troops of Operation Forest Sanity across Birnin Gwari, Chikun and Giwa Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The development was confirmed by the State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement released on Friday, December 23, 2022.
He said the troops have killed 8 bandits and recovered six motorcycles from them during ambush patrols in the Chikun/Birnin Gwari general areas.
The statement reads: “The troops set up ambush positions at bandits’ crossing points in the Buruku/Birnin Gwari areas.”
“The troops thus made contact with bandits, and neutralized eight, while recovering four motorcycles and three mobile phones in the first successful mission.
“The troops then engaged bandits in a second mission and recovered two motorcycles,”
In another operation, troops killed 2 bandits during clearance patrols along the Sabon Birni-Maidaro-Dogon Dawa-Galadimawa-Kidandan-Fatika axes.
The troops seized 1 AK-47 rifle, 2 magazines filled with 52 rounds, 6 motorcycles and 3 mobile phones.
Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has appreciated the troops for the successful operations.
