Trader bags 30 days imprisonment for stealing cooking pot in Jos
A 21-year old trader, Obed Alexander, on Monday bagged 30 days imprisonment over theft of cooking pot.
He was sentenced by an Area Court in Jos on Monday.
Alexander got sentenced by Magistrates Hyacinth Dolnaan and Adam Sadiq after pleading guilty to theft.
The magistrate has however given the convict a chance of making payment of N10,000 fine.
Insp Monday Dabit, the Prosecution Counsel, earlier, informed the court that the matter was on Oct. 12 brought to the awareness of law enforcement agency at the “B” Division Police station Bukuru by Police officers led by Insp Ode Isaiah.
Dabit also revealed that the convict was seen with the cooking pot and was apprehended during patrol.
He said the offence, was a violation of Section 272 of the Plateau Penal Code law.
