34-year-old, one Samson Banjo, was on Thursday remanded in a correctional facility over alleged armed robbery.
He was remanded in a Correctional Centre on the order of an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, on Thursday over alleged armed robbery.
Banjo, whose address of residence was not disclosed, has been charged with armed robbery.
Mrs O. A. Akande, who’s the Magistrate, rejected the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
She ordered the police to move the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for due legal advice.
Akande has adjourned the matter until December 22 for mention.
Mr Philip Amusan, who’s the prosecutor earlier, informed the court that the defendant allegedly carried out the offence on August 10, around 6: 00 a.m. at Ogbere Housing Estate, Ibadan.
Amusan made an allegation that Banjo, who’s armed with gun and other harmful weapons, launched an attack on one Dolapo Morakinyo.
He also made an allegation that the defendant robbed Morakinyo of her phone valued at N95,000, clothing material worth N20, 000, Spaghetti valued at N5, 000 and N2,500 cash and one ATM card.
The prosecutor revealed that the offence was in contravention of the Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Law of Nigeria, 2004.
