Hope Uzodinma, the Imo state Governor, on Monday, alongside his Deputy, Chinyere Ekomaru, was sworn in to serve another four-year tenure.
It was gathered that the swearing-in ceremony took place in Owerri, at the Dan Anyiam stadium.
The Informant247 reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had, on November 12, declared governor Uzodinma, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Saturday, November 11, governorship election held in the state.
Professor Abayomi Fashina, the Returning Officer for the Imo State Governorship Election and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, while announcing the result in Owerri, said, Uzodinma polled 540,308 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Sam Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 71,503 to come second and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) who scored 64,081 votes to come third.
Uzodimma won in all the 27 local government areas of the state in the November 11, 2023 governorship poll.
However, among the dignitaries who witnessed the swearing-in include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, a host of governors across party lines and members of the National Assembly members.
