Tinubu: My government won’t tolerate any form of ethnic bigotry

Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday, while addressing the nation on the #EndBadGovernance protests, said there’s no place for ethnic bigotry in his government

Tinubu, while reacting to the destruction caused by the protests, warned entities who have threatened other ethnic groups in the country to desist, saying, “The law will catch up with you.” ⁣

The Informant247 reports the ongoing protests against the rising cost of living and hunger, which started on Thursday, marred by violence, destruction of property and loss of lives in many parts of the nation like Kano, Kaduna and Borno. ⁣

At least 17 persons were reported dead in the “days of rage” protests.⁣

Tinubu said, “To those who have taken undue advantage of this situation to threaten any section of this country, be warned: The law will catch up with you. There is no place for ethnic bigotry or such threats in the Nigeria we seek to build.⁣

“Our democracy progresses when the constitutional rights of every Nigerian are respected and protected,” he added.
