The immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said that he owes his success story to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari.
Aregbesola, while speaking during a civic reception organised in his honour by concerned Muslim scholars and clerics in south-western Nigeria (CMSCSWN), on Saturday in Oyo, said that Tinubu mentored him in Lagos and facilitated his election as governor of Osun.
The former governor of Osun State also said that the establishment of the passport office, fire fighting office and agro-ranger office in Oyo town, which people praise him for, were done by Buhari and executed through him as minister of interior.
He said, “If any appreciation and gratitude could be given to me, I want to believe greater appreciation should be given to the two people I mentioned.”
“Without their support, it would be pretty difficult for me to single-handedly achieve the height I am now and be able to render the service to the good people of Oyo.”
In his remarks, Daud Tijani, the host of the programme, described Aregbesola as a man who never “compromised his integrity and faith in what he believes to be right”, while thanking the ex-minister for his commitment to humanity and infrastructural development in the interest of the people.
