Tijjaniyah sect in Kwara gets new Grand Khalifah
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has approved the appointment of Sheikh Abubakar Yusuf Agbade as the new Grand Khalifah for the Tijjaniyah sect in Kwara State.
This was contained in a short statement posted on the Facebook page of the Emir’s aide, Murtala Raheem.
The statement read, “Maimartaba Sarkin Ilorin approved and appointed Alh Abubakar Yusuf Agbade as the new Khalifa Tijaniya of Kwara state. May Allah grant you long life with sound health to pilot your affairs. Amin.”
With his appointment, he replaces Sheikh Abdulrahman Yusuf Maiyaki, who died last month.
THE INFORMANT247 gathered that the new head is a prominent leader of the sect prior to his appointment.
