Thug absconds after stabbing man to death in Ilorin

It was all tears at Ita-Ama area of Ilorin Kwara State on Thursday night as one Kehinde Kesari reportedly stabbed one 22-year old Jamiu Abdulqodir to death for trying to caution him from firing a banger.

An eyewitness who is also a relative of the deceased told The Informant247 that Kehinde and his group were playing with bangers at a place very close to their residence and they attempted to caution them which later led to a short argument between them and the gangs.

According to the source, it was after some minutes after the argument that the suspect returned and stabbed the deceased with a dagger which led to his death.

“After the argument, the guy and two others came back, they were trying to fight with him and we started begging them.

Suddenly after he had appeared to have listened to us and started going, he made a U-turn and stabbed him with a dagger which made lots of blood to be gushing out from his body,” the source who does not want his name to be mentioned disclosed.

The source also explained that the family of the deceased rushed him to Aromaradu hospital where he was rejected due to the severity of the injuries but was later taken to Ilorin General hospital where he later gave up the ghost after receiving little treatment.

The Informant247 gathered that the suspect who fled the scene immediately after the incident occurred is currently on the run since the incident happened.

The Kwara Police Command through her Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okansanmi confirmed the incident and assured that a discrete investigation has been initiated to root out the perpetrator.

“The commissioner of police has directed a discrete investigation into the matter and the suspect will be arrested and appropriate action will take place,” he said.
