Terrorists’ informants arrested in northwest Nigeria
KADUNA, Nigeria (The Informant247) – No fewer than three people were arrested in Nigeria’s Kaduna state for allegedly serving as informants to bandits, the police said.
The suspects, identified as Hafsat Ibrahim, Rabi Bala, and Bayero Adamu, apprehended by local guards operating in Maraban-Jos and Rigachikun communities in the state, were handed over to the Police for further investigation.
The State’s police spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, confirming the arrest, said all the suspects have confessed to the crime.
He said the two young women who were the bandit’s girlfriends, also helped the criminals with arm movement.
“The male suspect has also confessed to having participated, along with other gang members, in carrying out operations along the Kaduna-Zaria highway and neighbouring communities, but investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Heavily armed gangs have long plagued Nigeria’s northwest and north-central states, raiding villages to loot and kidnap for ransom, with violence becoming more widespread.
