The wife of Taraba State Governor, Anna Ishaku, on Thursday led demonstration on abuse against women at the state’s arm of government
The protest, sought an eternal end to the recurring menace of violence against the girl child and other gender-based violence, demanding justice against perpetrators.
The first lady who led multitude of women in the protest was seeking laws that will protect victims of abuse and hold offenders accountable.
The women who dressed in orange took to the streets of Jalingo, the state capital on Thursday, December 12, 2019 to register frustrations over gender induced violence.
The protesters also directed their conjuration to the leaders of each arm of the state government.
The protest is part of the 16 days activism against gender-based violence.
The women, however asked the Assembly to domesticate the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Taraba.
They also urged the Assembly to ensure the speedy passage of the bill, in order to protect women and girls against abuse.
